The former Portuguese colony of Macau, (also known as Macao) which is now one of China's 2 special administrative regions (the other being Hongkong), lies at the southeastern part of China to the western bank of the Pearl River Delta. Macau's territory includes the Macau Peninsula, Taipa and Coloane islands, and the reclaimed area where the famed Cotai Strip can be found. Cotai Strip connects Taipa and Coloane islands and is rapidly becoming one of Asia's top tourist destinations.
Aside from its grand casinos (which rival those in Las Vegas) and new buildings, including hotels, Macau's greatest asset lies in its unique society where people of diverse cultures from the East and West complement each other.
