Vietnam travel: Be it then or now, always enticing

Vietnam is a dynamic Southeast Asian country in the Indochina Peninsula that is bordered by 3 countries (China, Laos, and Cambodia) and the China Sea. There are many milestones in its rich and long history but one that stands out has been the impressive resurgence of Vietnam from its wartime past.

Major cities of Vietnam include Hanoi (the capital), Ho Chi Minh city (formerly Saigon), Hue, Danang, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, and Hoi An. Among Vietnam's attractions are 2 UNESCO World Heritage sites: Halong Bay and Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park.

Throughout the years, Vietnam has always been a place of exotic charm that has attracted visitors from all over. Perspectives on Vietnam can come from multiple sources, including memoirs by war veterans from Vietnam and overseas, Vietnam-based novels, and best of all, first-hand accounts. Nonetheless, be it then or now, Vietnam the country and its people will always be enticing and Vietnam travel a memorable experience.
