The world's largest country, Russia (now the Russian Federation; formerly the major state of the Confederation of Independent States and the Soviet Union), is a transcontinental country as it spans both Europe and Asia. Russia's major cities include Moscow (the capital), Saint Petersburg, Novosibirsk, and Samara.

Among Russia's attractions include old favorites such as the Kremlin in Moscow, the historical edifices of Saint Petersburg, and modern resorts along the Black Sea coast and the Altai and Caucasus mountains.  With a general knowledge about the country and its people and the proper Russia Visa, the world traveler should have a wonderful experience in Russia.
